Top Aéro
TopAero, Sorbonne Université's student body for aerospace and aeronautical engineering (Association Étudiante pour l’Aéronautique et l’Aérospatiale de Sorbonne Université) was founded in 2018 by three passionate students. Made with the view to allow students of all levels to develop concrete knowledge through participating in an array of engineering projects to choose from, which are unfortunately missing in a lot of university courses.
We are lucky enough to be working in a quality environment: that of Sorbonne Université. This allows us to develop concrete projects stemming from the excellent courses we receive. We also benefit from useful advice given to us by many research professors, who are specialists in their respective domains, contributing toward the advancement of our projects.

During our first year, our experimental rocket MC-1 was awarded two nationally recognized prizes. We are now a far bigger association and count 72 members actively working on 7 projects.
Our objective as a student body is to create an environment that allows passionate students to work on team-based aeronautical and aerospace engineering projects. Students, regardless of their studies or level are free, and encouraged, to join our projects as we believe everyone has something of value to bring to the table. This means that all of our projects are brought to life entirely by students.
We propose an array of different activities for students
We have independent projects such as the creation of a solar-powered drone or the building of a bendable wing.
These projects are accompanied by and put in place by our sponsors Planète Sciences and CNES and require special conditions in regard to their launches.
We also organize conferences to help students understand the challenges surrounding aerospace and aeronautical engineering, through dialogue with professionals in their respective domains.
