MerCurie 3 is the successor to MerCurie 2, using the same body and structure as its predecessor. This allows for a range of added possible experiments with the added advantage of past data on an already tested body.

The team will use Foucault currents to determine the effects of flight on the body as well as its recyclability. Other sensors will allow the team to plot the trajectory of the flight, and cameras will be placed in the parachute hold and on the ailerons in order to validate the hypotheses formulated by the team prior to the flight. Finally, the ejection of a CanSat and its ogive will allow the team to observe the safe return of the body with the help of an added camera.
